Welcome to Hands for Hope
Hands for Hope (H4H) is a registered non-profit charity organisation in Australia. Our aim is to provide direct support to disadvantaged children in remote regions of Vietnam. H4H's projects focus on key areas of education sponsorship, school construction and repair and corrective surgery. All H4H members are un-paid volunteers and our projects are directly managed by these dedicated members.
Hands for Hope organises fundraising events throughout the year, and also rely on the continual support of generous individuals and organisations, major sponsors and fundraising partners to enable us to fund our projects. We gratefully acknowledge these support and encouragement.

2008 Walk-A-Thon Fundraising Event
The Hands for Hope’s 2008 Walk-A-Thon fundraising event was held on Sunday 13th April at Footscray Park, Victoria. This is the sixth consecutive year we have held this event.
This year’s Walk-A-Thon attracted over 130 participants and raised a total of $13,465.40. While less than the record last year, it is still a great achievement by all. This proceed will be used to fund Hands for Hope’s projects in Vietnam, contributing to a budgeted $83,500 in total project spend for this financial year. With this fund, we can continue to provide education sponsorship for 800 students, perform 50 additional medical surgery cases and build two new classrooms. Every dollar raised will be making a difference to the lives of disadvantaged children in Vietnam [full details].

Lunar “Tet” festival at Sandown
We recently held an information stall at the Tet festival in Sandown Racecourse over the three days of 8-10th Feb 2008. Our members were on hand to answer enquiries from the general public and also took the opportunity to catch up with sponsors and friends of H4H who visited the stall.
On display were video, posters and plenty of information about our projects, and to add to the festive atmosphere, we gave away special H4H’s blue balloons to the eager young visitors.
Once again, the support and encouragement we received from members of the community were overwhelming and greatly appreciated. A total of $2065.35 in donation was received, all of which will be used to help the children in Vietnam. Thank you to everyone who participated, donated or simply stopped by the stall to say hello.
