Autumn Moon Festival 2005 at Federation Square
On Saturday 10th September 2005, Hands for Hope members volunteered at the Autumn moon festival at Federation Square. Members were involved in assembling and distributing lanterns, which required a great deal of skill and talent of course! We became a mean green lantern making machine, churning out lanterns by the hundreds....altogether 2000 lanterns were given out that night.
It was great to see the smiles on the children's faces, and many adults also found the child within and participated with great delight in the lantern parade ;) There were also lion dancing performances, traditional dances, songs and bands on the night.
A great night was had by all. Thanks to all the members who came along and helped, although we were busy we managed to have a lot of fun at the same time.
Below are some photos on the day.
