Annual Fundraising Dinner 2006

dinnner 2006 poster H4H’s 2006 fundraising dinner held on the 15th of September was highly successful and exceeded expectations with over 400 guests, sponsors and H4H members in attendance.

The dinner this year was made special by a number of new fundraising efforts besides our usual live auction. The silent auction, the “Heads and Tails” game and the participation of our guests in the “Sponsor Me” initiative all contributed to the exciting atmosphere.

We raised almost $31,280 from the night allowing us to continue our sponsorship of over 1000 children from disadvantaged backgrounds to go to school or learn a trade, and provide disabled children with corrective surgery.

From the “Sponsor Me” initiative, over 300 children who did not have sponsors will now have a brighter future in 2007 with their educational needs provided for. Many guests on the night were moved by the photos of the children placed on their table and opened their hearts to lend a helping hand.

The silent auction, the other new component of the program, was run by the Helping Hand Group. There were a wide variety of items on display to bid for, and guests had a good time trying to estimate the bidding price that would win them the item. The total raised from the silent auction was over $1,700.

All the fundraising efforts on the night will help bring hope to children in remote areas of Vietnam. Our aim is to provide them with a brighter future so that they may fulfill their dreams and contribute positively to the society in which they live.

Once again, we would like to thank all our sponsors and supporters who made the 2006 dinner a memorable night. We have been encouraged by your kindness and generosity and will continue in our efforts to make a difference.
