Walk-a-Thon 2006

This year’s annual H4H Walk-A-Thon (WAT) was held on Saturday 25th March 2006 at Footscray Park, Footscray, VIC.

wat walkersThis year's Walk-A-Thon was a huge success , being held on a beautiful sunny day and attracting a large number of participants. The youngest participant was a 4 year old girl and the eldest was 82 year old lady. That's an outstanding achievement considering the age difference.
We managed to raise over $8000. Once again, thankyou to all our sponsors, participants and other organisations that contributed to this enjoyable event.

Below are some words from one of our prize winners “Terry Tin”:

I was invited to join WAT 2006 by email from a friend.  Since this event is to help less-fortunate children, I thought "why not".  By participating in this event, I was benefited as well because I had a good walk that lasted for about 90 minutes.
I don't usually walk this much but I enjoyed the walk and was glad to be told that I raised the largest sum of donations individually.  For that, H4H awarded me with a medal and a certificate, which I later showed to my colleagues at work. The medal is still at my desk and will always be a good memory. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Hands for Hope for another successful fund raising event.
Congratulations!”
