Walk-A-Thon 2008

The Hands for Hope’s 2008 Walk-A-Thon fundraising event was held on Sunday 13th April at Footscray Park, Victoria. This is the sixth consecutive year we have held this event.

This year’s Walk-A-Thon attracted over 130 participants and raised a total of $13,465.40. While less than the record last year, it is still a great achievement by all. This proceed will be used to fund Hands for Hope’s projects in Vietnam, contributing to a budgeted $83,500 in total project spend for this financial year. With this fund, we can continue to provide education sponsorship for 800 students, perform 50 additional medical surgery cases and build two new classrooms. Every dollar raised will be making a difference to the lives of disadvantaged children in Vietnam.

On the Walk-A-Thon day, the weather was perfect, and the walk was scenic and relaxing. There were free T-shirts, bottled water and certificates for all participants, and a yummy BBQ lunch afterwards. For those who participated, we hope you enjoyed the day as much as we did. Your feedbacks are positive and encouraging. Thank you for your support and see you again next year!
