Walk-A-Thon 2009 - Walk for the Children Who Can't

There were around 170 people attended Hands for Hope 2009 Walk-A-thon "Walk for those who can't" at Studley Park Fairfield, Victoria. We have raised $18,124.30 on the day and the rest were donations around Australia. The net proceeds of the 2009 Walk-A-thon is $27,756.40.

The results of the Walk-A-Thon would enable Hands for Hope to fund for the costs of 89 corrective surgeries for children with disabilities in Vietnam, giving them a better chance in life.

In the past few months, our Coordinator Ms Thu Duong has went back to Vietnam and successfully completed organising 70 corrective surgery cases. We aim to provide 100 corrective surgeries a year going forward.

Below are details of the winners for the 2009 Walk-A-Thon:

- 1st person to reach the finished line - Mr Martin Vo
- Raised highest amount of money - Mr Thi Nguyen $650
- Youngest participant - 3 years old Nathan Tran.
- Oldest participant - 76 years old Mrs Le Thi Cam Nhung.

Hands for Hope would like to thank everyone who have attended the event, our sponsors, participating organisations and the media.
