Gia Lai Kon Tum Educational Sponsorship Project

Location

Gia Lai Kon Tum province in Central Vietnam.

Background for project

To sponsor children so that they can receive an education at their local schools. The sponsorship covers school fees, school uniforms, text books and stationaries.

Current situation

These children are orphans from the hill tribes and are looked after by the nuns, without whose help they may be condemned to death because all other families are equally poor and cannot provide for additional mouths to feed.

The sponsorship provides school bags, text books and stationaries, as there is no school fee.

Aim

Providing access to education for the underprivileged and the disadvantaged and consequently enhancing the career prospective for future Vietnamese.

We encourage students to at least complete their secondary education before enroll in apprenticeship. For those 76% students from junior high and above, we strongly encourage them to advance their education until they graduate from university or TAFE. The graduates’ career prospective will be followed after graduation.

Annual Budget

$1500 p.a.

$8-10 per child
